There are so many game modes that it's honestly impossible to talk about them all in one review without going on and on for pages at a time, so instead, we'll just focus on a couple of the game's more unique modes. You would be terribly mistaken though, as Power Pros is easily one of the deepest, most robust games out there for any genre, sports or otherwise. Therefore, it is forgivable if you look at the game's case, see these adorable characters and just assume this is a simple, stripped-down baseball game for kids. In less capable hands, this look would come across as lazy and unfinished, but Konami has been working this franchise for years (it's been around for decades in Japan) and they have honed the craft so well that you can easily pick out Derek Jeter or Ken Griffey Jr. This particular animation, known as chibi in Japan, transforms the Major League players you know and love into squat, cute little caricatures that sport almost no detail but still manage to convey both the appearance and personality of the players they represent. The first thing likely to strike you about Power Pros is its art direction, which can best be described as a cross between Rayman and Miis. Make no mistake, MLB Power Pros 2008 is a gem of a game, one any baseball fan should seriously consider tracking down. The result, though, is something truly great that manages to be one of the most comprehensive, stat-driven, obsessive, addictive and fun games out there, all while looking like something you'd see on a Saturday morning cartoon show. One such example is the Power Pros baseball series, which has eschewed the modern trend of realism and super-detailed player models for exceptional depth and gameplay aspects we would never expect to see in an American baseball game. There are certain Japanese game franchises on which we Americans really miss out.

You will not have a half dumbo or half rex rat. If you breed two varieties of rats you never get a mixed variety. Our pet rats belong to the species Rattus norvegicus, commonly called the Brown rat or Norway rat, specifically Rattus Norvegicus Domestica, to show they are domesticated pet rats.Ī breed would refer to much grander differences that actually affect the nature, personality, instincts, drive, etc… of the animal. Now the Genus- Rattus: rats! But that includes a ton of different types of rats that vary greatly in some cases.Īnd we finally have Species-R. Then we have the Family- Muridae: “a very large family of relatively small rodents (superfamily Muroidea) that include various originally Old World rodents (as the house mouse and the common rats) that are now cosmopolitan in distribution and that in recent classifications often include the cricetid rodents as a subfamily (Cricetinae)” Next is the Order- Rodentia ( Rodents): “any of an order (Rodentia) of relatively small gnawing mammals (such as a mouse, squirrel, or beaver) that have in both jaws a single pair of incisors with a chisel-shaped edge” Smart science people classify animals into different groups, based on things they have in common and how they are related.įirst let's discuss the class- Mammalia ( Mammals): “a warm-blooded vertebrate animal of a class that is distinguished by the possession of hair or fur, the secretion of milk by females for the nourishment of the young, and (typically) the birth of live young.” Or with some colors you may have them just not be all that ideal such as with rusting. On top of that, many rats are unlikely to be bred to show standards and could be called mismarked that doesn't really fit with the exact standard. I prefer and use The American Fancy Rat and Mouse Association (AFRMA) standards. It is also important to note that different countries and clubs give different names to certain varieties. If you looked at the rat you would say it is albino but it is actually Siamese. This would mean that the Siamese would not show any points and be all white. A wedge blaze is a white triangle covering their nose and between the eyes. For example, I have a Marked Wedge Blaze Siamese. There is a difference in phenotype vs genotype. It is important to note that sometimes simply knowing their color/markings won't always give you what variety they actually are without knowing their pedigree/history. So I will just give an explanation on what it all means! There are lots of great sources out there already that explain & show pictures of the different varieties. If you try to jump or double jump over them, you will teleport back to where you jumped from. Then, I have to wait for the weird pod racks to move before I get to the purple frog.Because of this, I have time to hop around and collect all the coins in the first part of the level and still make the next floating platform on time. The ones after the yellow frog appear every 154 frames, but the ones after the blue frog only appear every 254 frames. I have to wait for two different floating green platforms.I'm not sure why there are two Quick Hop butterflies here, but I only need one to dodge the boulders and jump up to the red frog quickly. It doesn't matter, though, since I have to wait for the platform to take me down to the blue frog anyway. I have to wait for the snails to move before I fall to the blue baby frog. I almost went the left route (3 coins instead of 2) but enemies would have hit me on that route, so I would have had to move over to the right anyway, and I would have wasted half a second total. After the purple baby frog, I take the line of leaves to the right because if I went the middle route, I would have had to move right anyway, and this route has 2 more coins, saving 8 frames on the "Coins missed" screen over the middle route.I can't beat the line of small leaf-carrying ants past the yellow frog with the optimal route, so I waste tons of time collecting coins and then hop behind their line.I make some music with the alligators' roars.Lily just falls through half of the gator and drowns in the river (the gators' collision detection is horrible). The first time he passes by, you cannot double-jump onto him. After I get the purple frog, I have to wait for the third gator to return.Sliding down the pyramid is surprisingly just as fast as hopping down the steps, but hopping down the steps with bugs on them is closer to the middle, where I need to be positioned at the bottom of the pyramid. That monkey's screech at the beginning of the level is annoying, but at least I hop away fast so you don't have to hear it that many times (but somehow, you can still hear it way over by the blue frog). One of the laggiest levels but also one of the shortest level times. There were a lot of areas where I found the fastest route around the bugs and across the chained platforms but it didn't really matter since I had to wait for the short metal spikes and the tall wooden spikes to retract. Most of this level (from the green frog to the purple frog) was laggy, so it was harder to avoid obstacles since Lily could only move so fast through the lag.I have to wait near the end for the mine cars to move so I can cross to the red frog, so I get a coin to save time at the "Coins missed" screen.
Just set up which of those services you want to use, then drag and drop files directly into the app residing in your dock. You can share files via FTP, WebDAV, SCP, and Flickr. Looking for an easy way to share files via your Dock? It can’t be any easier than the drag-and-drop process of DockDrop. HyperDock also allows you to add and assign shortcuts to apps, and move and resize windows. Mousing over iCal lets you see your upcoming events. Mousing over iTunes allows you to see the current song, pause/play, forward/reverse, adjust the volume, etc., somewhat mirroring the new functionality in iOS 7. Aside from the great Window Previews, HyperDock also allows you to control a few native apps, such as iTunes and iCal. It does have one great addition, and that’s the ability to set up a Music tab to control your music, both in a playlist and Internet radio.įorget about dock functionality HyperDock gives you great functionality on your Mac overall. However, unlike DockShelf, you can only place these docks along the edges of your screen. Upon download, it’s already set up with three tabs that include the “Main” dock, a dock for apps that connect you to the Internet, and Utilities, but you can make as many tabs as you want and utilize your own themes. You an change the color, the transparency, the font on the label, etc. One difference is that it allows you to make more changes to it aesthetically. Tab Launcher works much the same as DockShelf. By mousing over items in your docks, it will give you previews of all the open windows pertaining to that particular item. Apps, folders, stacks, and smart folders can be added to each dock with the ability to control each individually. You can opt to have DockShelf hidden out of the way when apps are in full screen mode to help your production. These individual docks can be collapsed on your screen leaving just a labeled tab visible. You can place them all around your desktop, helping you to designate different docks, between ones for productivity, social networking, documents, etc. DockShelf solves that problem by offering you the opportunity to create as many docks as you want. Themes and Customization - The app comes pre-packaged with a variety of themes for different tastes and customization options. One of the knocks against the dock is that while you can add as many things as you want, the size of the icons has to keep shrinking to fit more items in there.More than just files - Add and launch: Links, Mail messages, Calendar events, text clippings and more.Notes - Add and edit notes directly from docks using the text editor.Never in the way - Hide docks entirely or depending on which app is currently active.Workspaces - Switch between multiple workspaces depending on the app set currently being used.Process and devices docks - Add special docks that show all the processes currently open or external devices connected.Stacks - Group any number of files together into a stack which can be browsed via a popup window.Smart Folders - Add smart folders to docks which use Spotlight to quickly find files on your Mac then browse the results from the dock.Desktops - Extend your Macs desktop with docks.Browse Folders - Navigate the contents of folders from popup windows using a variety of different viewing options.Tabs - Display docks as tabs which can easily be expanded by hovering the mouse over them. With DockShelf launching your favorite documents and apps is faster and more powerful because you control where your docks are positioned, how many are on screen, how they're labeled and when they're visible. Did you ever wish your Dock could do more or handle more of your apps and files? DockShelf lets you place unlimited docks around your desktop so you never run out of space again for your commonly used files, folders and applications! The composition of fingerprints consists of water (95%-99%), as well as organic and inorganic constituents. Fingerprint matching considers only the obvious features of a fingerprint. The matching of two fingerprints is among the most widely used and most reliable biometric techniques. Biologyįingerprints are impressions left on surfaces by the friction ridges on the finger of a human. Research has been conducted into whether experts can objectively focus on feature information in fingerprints without being misled by extraneous information, such as context. There are no uniform standards for point-counting methods, and academics have argued that the error rate in matching fingerprints has not been adequately studied and that fingerprint evidence has no secure statistical foundation. Their use as evidence has been challenged by academics, judges and the media. They may be employed by police or other authorities to identify individuals who wish to conceal their identity, or to identify people who are incapacitated or deceased and thus unable to identify themselves, as in the aftermath of a natural disaster. Human fingerprints are detailed, nearly unique, difficult to alter, and durable over the life of an individual, making them suitable as long-term markers of human identity. Fingerprint records normally contain impressions from the pad on the last joint of fingers and thumbs, though fingerprint cards also typically record portions of lower joint areas of the fingers. Deliberate impressions of entire fingerprints can be obtained by ink or other substances transferred from the peaks of friction ridges on the skin to a smooth surface such as paper. Moisture and grease on a finger result in fingerprints on surfaces such as glass or metal. The recovery of partial fingerprints from a crime scene is an important method of forensic science. A fingerprint is an impression left by the friction ridges of a human finger. The band also contends that the hotel “actively encourage(s) consumers to believe that the hotel in Todos Santos is associated with the Eagles to further their sale” of these items by playing Eagles songs - particularly “Hotel California” - throughout its halls and in its lobby. The lawsuit claimed the hotel sells merchandise - including T-shirts, posters, sweatshirts, bathrobes, key chains, playing cards, mugs, guitar picks and refrigerator magnets - featuring the band’s name and the cover art from its 1976 album “Hotel California,” on which the song appeared. Mind you, if you're partial to scones then this film will offend you no matter which language option you select. As per the show's TV series releases, FUNimation Entertainment's American dub is a very different beast in terms of humour to the original Japanese script, aiming for edgier and potentially more offensive fare with mixed results - it's probably funnier than the Japanese language track if you like the kind of thing, but it's just as hit and miss as the original. There are laughs to be had from the movie without a doubt, but they don't come as frequently as one might like and there are periods of the film where it simply falls back on its characters and their inherent traits over trying to do anything more imaginative - fine if you're in love with Hetalia's personalities perhaps, but it certainly doesn't do enough to mark Paint it White out as a must-see comedy by any stretch. In terms of content itself, the film runs the gamut from the funny to the unimaginatively stereotypical. This mish-mash occasionally makes the movie feel like a rather odd beast, as it switches away almost inexplicably to skits which barely fit in this outing as a whole. Indeed, some of the sketches are even directly recycled from the TV series and dropped into the midst of the story despite having no connection to the whole alien invasion plot, and other new sketches are similarly completely unrelated to the film's central theme. Is it time to wave the white flag in front of a sea of white paint?ĭespite this plot to anchor the movie and give it focus, break things down a little more and Paint it White is still clearly a compilation of sketches just like any other episode of Hetalia. From here, various attempts are made to placate or otherwise convince the invading Pictonians to cease their activity, but it seems that nothing can save the world from their rather unusual desire. It's only once our wide-ranging collection of nations have tasted a colourless but crushing defeat that they begin to work together, thanks in no small part to the advice of a foul-mouthed alien called Bob who just so happens to be America's buddy. Of course, our collection of anthropomorphised countries are having none of it, and set out to defeat this alien threat - at least, that would be the plan if they could actually agree on anything. With a running time of seventy minutes compared to short episodes amounting to just a few minutes within a normal series of Hetalia, there's clearly far more room for an over-arching plot within Paint it White, and the movie delivers along these lines by introducing us to the Pictonians, an alien race intent on taking over the Earth by (as the film's title suggests) painting everything with a ray of pure, bland white. However, if you've been suffering from withdrawal symptoms in the interim, here we are on the cusp of a DVD release for the franchise's theatrical animated outing - Paint it, White. It was released on November 22, 2011, and each DVD came with a green bandana as a bonus. It's been quite a while since we last paid a visit to the wacky world of Hetalia: Axis Powers - over a year in fact, and the UK release of the show's second season. The English dubbed version made its premiere at the Anime Weekend Atlanta convention, taking place from September 30 to October 2, 2011. At Otakon 2010, Funimation Entertainment announced the license of the film. Hetalia Axis Powers: Paint it, White! (銀幕ヘタリア Axis Powers Paint it, White(白くぬれ!)) is an anime feature-length film adaptation based on the manga series by Hidekazu Himaruya and was released on June 5, 2010. |
